IT’S HERE! IT’S HERE! As we told you a couple weeks back, spring is the busiest season for film festivals in Metro Boston. But this year is especially crazy, because FIVE of the festivals are running all or part of their programming on the SAME WEEKEND! So you have a ton of choices to make.

One of the oldest film festivals of its ilk, the Wicked Queer Boston LGBT Film Festival gets underway tonight. The festival is celebrating it’s 34th season of selections, and kicks things off with the opening night selection A Moment In The Reeds. Here’s the synopsis from the IMDb:
Having moved to Paris for university, Leevi returns to his native Finland for the summer to help his estranged father renovate the family lake house so it can be sold. Tareq, a recent asylum seeker from Syria, has been hired to help with the work, and when Leevi’s father has to return to town on business, the two young men establish a connection and spend a few days discovering one another during the Finnish midsummer.
The film is in both Finnish and English with English subtitles. Screenwriter and director Mikko Makela will be in attendance at the screening, which takes place at 7:30 PM at the Remis Auditorium at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. Tickets for the opening night screening and afterparty with the director are just $30, and can be purchased at the MFA’s website. There will be an afterparty at the MFA’s TasteCafe, and the film is co=presented by the Scandinavian Cultural Center , Finlandia Foundation , Queer Muslims of Boston , and the MIRA Coalition
