“Boston Springs A Fethival” season is in high gear as it trucks through to the end of April, and the oldest LGBTQ film festival in America is underway – it’s the 2017 edition of Wicked Queer – Boston LGBTQ Film Festival!
We have officially crossed the halfway point for this year’s fest, and two more great films are on tap this evening….well, more than two actually, but that’s being nitpicky because one of the screenings involves a whole lotta shorts….
First up is the Mens Shorts series Our Bodies Ourselves – eleven shorts celebrating passion, drive, and of course, that which goes along with it…:-) The screening is at the Museum of Fine Arts at the Remis Auditorium and begins at 7:30 PM – get tickets here.
Out at Cambridge’s Brattle Theatre, the film for tonight is AWOL, based on the short film of the same name, the story of a tomboy named Joey and her attraction to a married mother of three named Rayna. It’s a story of exploration and love that has been critically acclaimed wherever it’s screened. It starts at 8 PM and will be preceded by the short Our Second First Date – Get tickets here.
Don’t forget, Wicked Queer will be just a part of our massive Boston Springs A Festival Double-Feature weekend shows over at Subject:CINEMA the weekend of May 20-21; a complete rundown of the festival and the films therein. You won’t want to miss that. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to check out Wicked Queer’s official web site for info on ALL The films, complete venue and ticket info, and more!
The film fun continues through April 9, at venues all over the Metro area – be sure to check in with eCinemaBoston every morning for each day’s lineup!
