I always hate how fate causes all kinds of trouble.
We’ve been prepping for one of our biggest shows of the year, Subject:CINEMA‘s 6th annual “Boston Springs A Fethival” show, which is actually TWO shows there’s so much packed into it. Everything was falling into place for it, and looked like it was going to come off without a hitch.
Then I woke up on Friday with a slight tickle in my throat. By Friday evening, it was a full fledged cold, lodged in my throat. And now as I write this early Saturday morning, I have almost NO voice. At all. ARRGGGGHHH.
For those of you waiting for the show, the extra week’s wait will be worth it – the PDF is coming together nicely and is bigger and more packed with film, festival, and venue info than ever before – it’s the ULTIMATE guide to Boston’s spring festival season.
But you’re gonna have to wait a week for it, because trying to do it this weekend will make it sound terrible, like I sound right now. Or at least feel – I actually don’t have much of a voice, my head feels like a watermelon that’s been stepped on, and…well, you get the idea.
So…Memorial Day weekend it is – we’ll get things going and next weekend, you can take the BSAF shows with you on your “start of summer” picnics and outings and such. We had originally planned to take next weekend off before starting our month-long tenth anniversary celebration…so now we’re just flip flopping our weekends off…you know, like most politicians do in DC that keep changing their minds…oh, wait a minute, we’re not THAT bad are we? Heh heh…
Thanks for your understanding…my health has sucked all year since starting off January in the hospital with pneumonia, and hopefully, this will be the LAST of this crap…and we’ll see you next weekend…and hopefully my voice will recover enough by Wednesday for the Mirrorball Mayhem finals show…
Cheers,
TC
