2016 Independent Film Festival Boston is almost over…NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
It’s day eight – the FINAL day of the 2016 fest, and they’re going on out with style – what a fantastic crop of films graced this year’s fest…wish we’d been able to get to more of ’em..
We had a great time last night at the New England premiere of Little Men – this was every bit as good as the word of mouth that came out of Sundance said it was. Director Ira Sachs was on hand and a great time was had by all.
Tonight’s closing night film is the debut feature film from director Clea Duvall, The Intervention, and Duvall also stars along with a top notch ensemble cast that includes Cobie Smulders, Melanie Lynskey, and Natasha Lyonne. It screens at 7:30 PM at the Coolidge Corner Theatre in Brookline. Tickets are still available here!
Don’t forget to check out the official site for all the info on all the great films coming in the next few days, as well as parties that can be attended, great merch to help the cause, and such. And donate if you can – Independent Film Festival Boston is ENTIRELY volunteer-driven – they can’t make this great fest happen without your help!
Also, don’t forget that membership in IFFB is a Year Round thing…you get monthly special member screenings (the last one we attended was the fun and marvelous Sing Street), discounts on IFFB passes and badges for both the full festival and the new Fall Film Focus series that launched in 2015, and more. And part of your membership is tax deductable in most cases. You can get more on IFFB membership here!
And be sure to check out Subject:CINEMA the weekend of May 21-22 for TWO huge podcasts – our annual (and MASSIVE) Boston Springs A Fethival shows – all the fests and film series from Boston’s busy spring festival season – coverage of the festivals, reviews of the films, and more. You can find MetroBoston’s oldest and longest running film podcast at http://ecinemaone.com and http://subjectcinema.com!
