The 10th annual Independent Film Festival of Boston has come to a close…and we’re sad to see it go.
Even though we didn’t get to all the films we’d hoped to see, some of the filmmakers have come through with screeners for us to check out, and that’s always good – it means we’ll be able to give you even more great film reviews on our 2nd annual “Boston Springs A Fethival” edition of Subject:CINEMA (see sidebar for the player), coming up on Sunday, May 13th.
This special edition of Subject:CINEMA will feature our take on all FIVE of Boston’s major spring film festivals – the Irish Film Festival, the Boston Underground Film Festival, the Boston International Film Festival, the Independent Film Festival of Boston, and for the first time this year, the Boston LGBT Film Festival. And we have had or will shortly feature reviews of films from all five festivals as well.
Thanks to the staff at the Somerville, Brattle, and Coolidge Corner theaters for making everything go smoothly, the volunteers who really have a tough, thankless job, and to the people who make up the senior staff as well. Those five individuals – Adam Roffman, Brian Tamm, Nancy Campbell, Christine Harbaugh, and Dan McCallum – work their tails off with no compensation putting this thing together each and every year.
