FETHIVAL FLASH: Roxbury Int’l Film Festival, Day Ten

Welcome to eCinemaBoston’s daily coverage of the 2019 Roxbury International Film Festival!  The RIFF officially runs from June 20-29, and will be screening films at a variety of locations throughout the Hub, you can check each day’s listings for films, locations, and ticket info.

Ten days. over a dozen great films, and today is the FINAL day of this year’s festival!

First up today is a closing brunch celebrating the end of the 21st annual RIFF, held on the sixth floor of the Bruce C Bolling Building at 2300 Washington St in Roxbury; admission is $10 for most, with Gold passholders and filmmakers getting in for free. Tickets are available here.

The fifth and final shorts film program for this year’s fest, titled The Next Generation, kicks off the film offerings today. The seven films screen at 12:00 PM at the Harold And Mildred Remis Auditorium, tickets are available here.

Next is the screening of the music documentary This Is The Bash, the story of Haitian jazz musician Jowee Omicil. The screening starts at 2:30 PM at the Harold And Mildred Remis Auditorium, tickets are available here.

Up next is the local-based documentary Greetings From Roxbury, focusing on life in the city starting in the 1950s and travelling up to the present time. The screening starts at 4:30 PM at the Harold And Mildred Remis Auditorium,and unfortunately if you don’t have tickets yet, you’re out of luck as this screening is SOLD OUT.

Finally, the official closing night film of the RIFF is Don’t Be Nice, following a group of New York City-based slam poets vying for a shot at the national chapionships in 2016.
