We’re calling tonight a “minus One” day because “official” opening day is Thursday, but RIFF is kicking things off at the Museum Of Fine Arts’ Sunset Cinema series with a screening of last winter’s huge hit and Oscar-winning Best Animated Feature, “Spider-Man Into The Spider Verse“, the first feature film in Spider-Man history to feature young African-American/Latino hero Miles Morales. The screening opens at 7:00 PM with the actual film unspooling at sunset, approximately 8:30 PM. The event is being co-sponsored by Comics In Color, and is at the Huntington Avenue Exterior area of the MFA at Forsythe Way. Screening is free, lawn games and art-making activities begin at 7 pm. Bring a blanket or low chair (maximum 3 feet high), a picnic supper, and nonalcoholic beverages to enjoy during the film. Beer, wine, and snacks are available for purchase. Seating is limited; arrive early to guarantee your spot. All bags are subject to inspection by Museum staff. Large bags, coolers, and tall chairs are not permitted. Films are held outdoors on the Huntington Avenue Lawn, weather permitting. The weather decision is made on the day of the film.
