The festival will open with the East Coast premiere of director Danny Boyle’s new film “Yesterday“, following a young musician who is suddenly the only person on the planet who remembers The Beatles. Tickets for Opening Night are $35 and two screenings are being held at the Dreamland Main at 17 South Water Street, one at 5:45 PM, the other at 8:30. Ticket info is here.
Closing night belongs to the critically acclaimed documentary “Maiden“, about the first all-women crew to enter the Whitbread Round the World Race, a circumnavigation competition that, until then, had been the exclusive domain of male seafarers. Screenings will be held again at the Dreamland Main at 17 South Water Street, one at 5:45 PM, the other at 8:30 PM. Ticket info is here.
In between, you’ll see a variety of great films, including expected to be smash hit Toy Story 4, the centerpiece presentation The Farewell, and some of the most buzzed about festival films of the year thus far, including Brittany Runs A Marathon, The Peanut Butter Falcon, The Sound Of Silence, and Them That Follow among others in the narrative category, and David Crosby: Remember My Name, Cold Case Hammerskjold, HoneyLand, Jawline, and Mike Wallace Is Here among the great docs that will be screened.
