BSAF 2018: Irish Film Festival, Day One

IT’S HERE! IT’S HERE! As we told you a couple weeks back, spring is the busiest season for film festivals in Metro Boston. But this year is especially crazy, because FIVE of the festivals are running all or part of their programming on the SAME WEEKEND! So you have a ton of choices to make.

The 2018 edition of the Irish Film Festival kicks off tonight with the festival award-winner for Breakthrough Feature”, Kissing Candice, from director Aoife McArdle. The synopsis on the website reads thusly:

17 year old Candice longs to escape her seaside town and finds solace in her imagination. When her disillusionment calcifies into an obsession with a troubled stranger, she becomes entangled with a dangerous local gang.

Actress Ann Skelly is expected to be in attendance for a Q&A after the screening. The screening is presented by BA Events/Rás na hÉireann.

The film screns with the short Bless Me Father, from director Paul Horan, presented by Talamas.
