The 2016 Boston Turkish Film Festival is in full swing this week, and tonight’s film is a film lovers dream – a documentary about the hot Turkish filmmaking scene and the country’s rich film history.
Remake Remix Ripoff takes a deep insiders look into Turkey’s filmmaking history – the country has had a reputation for doing some crazy things over the years, and German filmmaker Cem Kaya dove in headfirst to take an in-depth look into what makes Turkey’s film community tick. And in particular, the penchant for taking well known scripts and redoing them in their own fashion, usually without permission.
This film has won accolades wherever it has played, and tonight is your first chance to see it in the Metro Boston area. It will screen at 8:00 PM at the Remis Auditorium @ Museum of Fine Arts. Check out the BTFF official writeup for the film for more information about it as well as ticket purchase info.
BTFF continues all weekend long with more great films, and eCinemaBoston will be here each and every morning with the rundown on what’s playing, when, and where you can see it! Don’t miss out!
