BOSTON SPRINGS A FETHIVAL: Boston Underground Film Festival, Day Two

egCAplMnHey all! The 17th annual Boston Underground Film Festival is underway at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge! Word of mouth from last night is showing they picked a couple of real fan faves for the opening night in The Editor and Gone With The Pope. eCB will have links to our reviews of both of these films later this week.

Day two is shaping up to be top notch entertainment as well. It kicks off with the first shorts series, Hoping For Something Else, which is a look at hoping for life changing happenings. The series starts at 5:45 PM.

Then, you’re in for a terrifying ride with tonight’s first feature, The World Of Kanako.  Here’s what BUFF’s Nicole McControversy said on the site about this thriller:

Combining the sensibilities of a 70’s exploitation film with the modern sheen of a violent psychological thriller, The World of Kanako takes you on a horrific, oft hilarious ride through candy-colored hell. Think Get Carter & Ichi the Killer with an Urbangarde tempo.

The World of Kaniko screens at 7:30 PM

After that, you’re only halfway through the ride tonight – you have to stay on board for Excess Flesh. This thriller centers its horror around a main character who has bulimia, which is front and center in the storyline. This east coast premiere screens at 9:55 PM.

As always a variety of shorts precede the features on the program.

Full info on the films, the shorts, and purchasing tickets can be found at BUFF’s official website at http://bostonunderground.org!

And stay tuned…there’s three more days of great entertainment to go, and we’ll have all the info right here for you every morning.
