This weekend certainly proves the old adage about New England weather, doesn’t it? Bleah!
Many theatres that were forced to close due to Blizzard Nemo (snicker) yesterday are planning to try and reopen later this afternoon or this evening, but that plan may be scuttled by Governor Patrick, who is considering extending the travel ban imposed yesterday through Sunday morning, and by the MBTA, who are currently saying that they may not begin operations again until sometime on Sunday or even early Monday morning.
If you are planning to try and take in a film this evening once the storm has completely ended, please take a few extra minutes to call the theatres and see if they will be open. Many were planning to try, but may not be able to do so as noted above. You can check the websites of all Boston metro theatres, and their Fandango listings, using our handy ticket and website guide on our sidebar. And as a result of this massive storm and its effects, we are planning to add Facebook and Twitter links to our listings for each theatre sometime in the near future.
PNRBoston will bring you a full wrap on the storm and its effect on the Boston film community on Sunday.
