The 14th annual Boston Underground Film Festival (the oldest of the four spring fests – Irish is 13, BIFF and IFFB both 10 this year) continues through Sunday, April 1, at Cambridge’s Brattle Theatre.
Here’s tonight’s Lineup:
FRIDAY MARCH 30
5:45pm Look at this F*cking Shorts Program
7:30pm Excision
9:30pm Smuggler
10:00pm Trilluminati #Secrete Society w/Walkmaster Flex
11:55pm Rock n’ Roll Nightmare – 25th Anniversary
Kim and I will be in attendance at Smuggler, a live-action adaptation of the popular Japanese manga of the same name. Director Katsuhito Ishii weaves a blood-soaked, violent, and also FUNNY tale of a failed actor who must help with some less than above the board jobs after ending up with a high gambling debt. Here’s the trailer (sorry there’s no subtitles – I searched high and low for one that had them, but you can get the gist of the story, I’m sure…):
You can order tickets from the Brattle Theatre’s website at http://brattlefilm.org, and check out full descriptions about the films and download a PDF of this year’s program at the festival’s official website at http://bostonunderground.org. We are very proud to be among the supporters of this great festival this year, and will bring you news and daily info here on BP, trailers on PNR/SC’s Daily Trailer feature over at http://subjectcinema.com, and a complete wrap up of the festival as part of Subject:CINEMA’s 2nd annual “Boston Springs A Fethival” podcast in early May!
