A double bill focusing on the classic film “The Quiet Man” is on the top of the agenda for the final day of the 13th Annual Irish Film Festival at the Somerville Theatre.
The classic John Ford film The Quiet Man will screen in the main theatre at 2:30 PM today. Starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara, this classic story of a man who leaves his home in America to start over again in a simpler lifestyle in Ireland has long been a favorite of film fans everywhere.
It will be followed by the New England premiere of the new documentary “Dreaming The Quiet Man“, which follows the story and explores the legacy of this film, with appearances by Martin Scorsese, Jim Sheridan, and Maureen O’Hara herself.
