The DocYard presents Armadillo at the Brattle February 1

The DocYard presents ARMADILLO – TUESDAY FEBRUARY 1, 8pm at the Brattle Theatre – this is only the film’s second time screening in the US

Directed by Danish filmmaker Janus Metz, ARMADILLO journeys to a UK-Danish military base in Afghanistan. Metz follows the soldiers in their peace-keeping mission in the region, and discovers the real tensions that such missions inspire. This must-see documentary takes you to the front lines of “peace-keeping” to show you the battles soldiers wage there. (Critics Week’s Grand Prize, Cannes Film Festival)

We welcome Bob Kinder as our discussion moderator for the evening. A retired Army officer who recently spent a year in Afghanistan creating and leading a counterinsurgency advisory team for the former U.S. Army commander, Gen. Stanley McChrystal, he is currently a candidate in the Mid-Career Master Program in Public Administration at the Harvard Kennedy School

There will be a post-screening party at Grendel’s Den in Harvard Square.
