THAT EVENING SUN
Dramatic Competition
Abner Meecham (Hal Holbrook) flees the nursing facility in which his son convinced him to live and returns to his Tennessee farm, only to discover his son has leased the farm to an old foe. This sets up a ruthless grudge match between Abner and Lonzo Choat (Academy Award winner Ray McKinnon) the new tenant, each man rightly claiming the land as his own and each refusing to leave. Lines are drawn, threats are made, and the simmering tension under the Tennessee sun erupts, inevitably, into savagery.
